No postgame word or comment on the injury to Kings center Jarret Stoll

The Kings suffered a noteworthy loss Tuesday in Game 1, when veteran center Jarret Stoll was forced from the game after the Sharks’ Raffi Torres slammed him against the glass and was penalized for charging at 19 minutes, 2 seconds of the second period.

Stoll did not return to the Kings’ bench for the third period and general manager Dean Lombardi said after the game that he didn’t know the extent of his injury. Kings coach Darryl Sutter would say only, “We weren’t resting him and he didn’t come back.”

Torres said he didn’t believe his hit was worthy of a penalty.
