There’s no place like home in the playoffs, as far as the Kings are concerned

The Kings are 5-0 at Staples Center during the playoffs, which probably didn’t play any role in coach Darryl Sutter’s decision to return to Southern California after Game 3 to practice Sunday and Monday. It was better to be home with the family rather than being stuck in a hotel in San Jose, according to team captain Dustin Brown.

“I like it, with the extra day it’s nice to be able to sleep in your own bed,” Brown said. “Not having to sleep in hotels, getting on the bus and stuff like that, I liked it. The flight is 50 minutes. If it’s any longer than that maybe it’s a different story. With the short flight, it makes it possible. The day drags on. You have a lot of time, right. You stay over two days and you have a lot of time between games. For me personally, the last two days have gone pretty quickly and I’ve got three kids. I think everybody preferred to come home.”
