Kings news and notes for Game 7

Actually, there’s not much in the way of news going into Game 7 on Tuesday. Injured Kings center Jarret Stoll went for his longest skate yet on Monday, but there’s still no timetable for his return to the lineup. Stoll was sidelined by a concussion after the San Jose Sharks’ Raffi Torres hit him with an illegal check in Game 1. Torres was suspended for the rest of the series, including tonight’s game.

There are a few interesting nuggets unearthed about Game 7s for the Kings by the NHL’s crack media relations department. For instance, the Kings organization hasn’t played a Game 7 since 2002, when it lost to the Colorado Avalanche in Denver. It hasn’t won a Game 7 since 1993, when it defeated the Maple Leafs in Toronto to win the Western Conference finals. It hasn’t hosted a Game 7 since 1989, when it defeated the Edmonton Oilers in the first round at the not-so-Fabulous Forum.
