Has winger Dustin Penner found a home with Mike Richards and Jeff Carter?

After some needless verbal jousting with a reporter who asked a perfectly harmless question and after fielding several other equally tame queries Wednesday, Kings left wing Dustin Penner admitted he was pleased to accept his current role on a line with Mike Richards and Jeff Carter. Penner, a free-agent to-be, also said of his ever-changing roles:

“Obviously, I’d like to play more minutes. I think everybody on our team except maybe Drew (Doughty) would say they’d like more minutes. But we’re way more happy winning than getting more minutes. You saw Brownie (captain Dustin Brown) on the third line or the quote, unquote, third line, for a game or two. We’re able to sacrifice our pride. That’s why we’ve won six series in the last (12) months. We worry more about the end results.”

Said Richards of playing with Penner: “Definitely, we have some chemistry with Penner over there. We’ve played together for a bit now. It’s probably the most I’ve played with anyone on the left side. We’ve had some success there now.”
