Injured center Mike Richards joins the Kings ‘extras’ for a short skate

Mike Richards went for a twirl on the ice Wednesday morning for the first time since suffering a concussion in Game 1 of the Western Conference finals Saturday in Chicago. Richards, a veteran center, skated for about 25 minutes with the Kings’ extra players. He didn’t stop to speak with reporters after leaving the ice for the dressing room.

Asked about Richards’ condition, Kings coach Darryl Sutter said; “You know what, guys just got here at 11. Kind of circling the wagons. We’ll know as we go along. Just talked to him 30 seconds. Light workout. Whether that’s progress or not. … I talked to him for a minute after the game. More interested in the fact we won than how he was feeling.”
