Kings defenseman Slava Voynov skating in very elite company in the playoffs

Kings defenseman Slava Voynov has four game-winning goals during the playoffs, tying a league record for the most GWG’s by a defenseman in one postseason. You’ll find the others’ names enshrined in the Hall of Fame in Toronto. They are: Paul Coffey of the Edmonton Oilers in 1985, Al MacInnis of the Calgary Flames in 1989 and Brian Leetch of the New York Rangers in 1994. Coffey, MacInnis and Leetch each helped their teams win Stanley Cup championships in those seasons.

Voynov also set a Kings record for GWGs in one postseason, passing Dustin Brown, Jeff Carter and Wayne Gretzky, who shared the previous mark of three. Voynov has five goals and six assists in the playoffs and has a plus-minus defensive rating of plus-10. He is the first Kings defenseman to score five goals in one postseason.
