Kings captain Dustin Brown won’t need surgery to mend torn knee ligament

Kings captain Dustin Brown revealed during a meeting with reporters Monday that he wouldn’t need surgery to mend a torn ligament in his knee. Rest and time will heal his injury, suffered on the opening shift of the Kings’ loss to the San Jose Sharks in Game 6 of their second-round victory. Brown refused to use his injury as an excuse for his lack of production during the Kings’ loss to the Chicago Blackhawks in the Western Conference finals. He also said he wouldn’t watch the Stanley Cup Final between the Blackhawks and the Boston Bruins. He would watch the NBA Finals, however. His pick? The Miami Heat.
