Jonathan Quick’s 9-9 record, 1.86 goals-against average and .934 save percentage during the playoffs weren’t as good as his 16-4 mark, 1.41 goals-against average and .946 save percent from the Kings’ Stanley Cup postseason in 2012. How could they be? How could he have repeated or surpassed what now seems otherwordly? Quick didn’t see it that way when doing his season-ending interview with reporters. He made it seem if he let down his teammates. Here’s more from Quick’s interview earlier this week:

“The first feeling I would say is disappointment. I think a lot of our team. I think we could have made a push for it again (the Stanley Cup). I didn’t play as well as I could have. You have to tip your hat to Chicago. A lot of guys stepped up. We were disappointed we weren’t able to do it. I’d say we set out this year to defend the Cup and we weren’t able to do that. We fell short of what we wanted to do. We did play hard. … The season had it’s ups and downs. … We wanted to have home ice (advantage in the playoffs). That’s three or four years in a row we weren’t able to do that.”
