Kings comings and goings: Bye-bye Pancakes, hello Car Bomb

The Kings said goodbye to Dustin “Pancakes” Penner, who signed a one-season, $2-million deal to return to the Ducks, and said hello to Daniel “Car Bomb” Carcillo, who was acquired from the Chicago Blackhawks for a conditional draft pick in 2015. Penner might be re-united with former linemates Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf next season. There’s been an opening on the line since the Ducks traded Bobby Ryan to the Ottawa Senators.

Penner wrote on Twitter: “Thanks to all Kings fans, staff, personnel, management, coaches and especially my teammates I’ll miss everyone of u. See ya around.”

Meanwhile, the Kings added another piece of sandpaper in Carcillo, who had two goals and one assist with 11 penalty minutes in 23 games last season with the Stanley Cup champion Blackhawks. He has 87 points in 333 regular-season games in the NHL.
