Final: Kings 6, Ducks 0

The Kings didn’t give Jonathan Quick much to do during their exhibition game against the Ducks on Tuesday night at the Honda Center. Quick faced only 12 shots in 40 minutes and then took a seat on the bench to watch the rest of the Kings’ 6-0 victory.

Mathieu Garon replaced Quick for the third period.

Quick departed with the Kings holding a commanding 3-0 lead. Matt Frattin, Scott Sabourin and Drew Doughty beat Ducks starter Viktor Fasth before Fasth was replaced by 20-year-old rookie John Gibson to start the third period. Fasth faced 26 shots from the Kings.

Kyle Clifford was denied on a second-period penalty shot by Fasth. Clifford was hooked on a partial breakaway by Ducks defenseman Sami Vatanen at 1 minute, 55 seconds of the second period. The Kings already led 1-0, on Frattin’s power-play goal at 15:08 of the first.

Jeff Carter scored twice and Anze Kopitar added another in the third for the Kings.

The Kings are 1-2 in exhibition play. The Ducks are 1-1.
