Kings coach Darryl Sutter shuffles his lineup for game against the Stars

Kings coac Darryl Sutter made a couple of minor tweaks to the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Dallas Stars at Staples Center, scratching ineffective forward Matt Frattin and defenseman Alec Martinez. Colin Fraser replaced Frattin and Jake Muzzin took Martinez’s spot in the defense crops.

Sutter cut Frattin’s minutes significantly during the third period of the Kings’ 2-1 shootout victory over the Nashville Predators on Thursday. Sutter wouldn’t say it was because of a lack of production from Frattin, who has three assists but has a minus-5 defensive rating.

“He’s no different than anyone else,” Sutter said. “You’d see some players you guys (reporters) think are elite players and there’s minutes dropped on the trip, and we were 3-1. It’s not about one guy or how many minutes he played. There’s a lot more that goes into it.”

Muzzin earned an assist on the Kings’ first goal, sending a pass from the left wing off the skate of teammate Justin Williams and into the net. Williams received credit for the goal, which tied the score at 1-1 at 16:31 of the opening period.
