Kings honor coach Darryl Sutter for his 1,000th game as an NHL coach

Kings coach Darryl Sutter coached his 1,000th game in the NHL on Saturday, but the team didn’t get around to truly honoring his achievement until before Thursday’s game against the Boston Bruins. Sutter was given a hero’s welcome by Kings fans and then presented with a new pair of cowboy boots. The man known as the Jolly Rancher because of his ties to the family farm in Viking, Alberta, seemed touched. Later, he cracked, “I thought they were going to give me a tractor.”
