Kings-Rangers television viewership is second-most for a Game 1 for NBC

The Kings’ 3-2 overtime victory over the New York Rangers in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final on Wednesday averaged 4.777 million viewers, making it the second-most watched Game 1 for NBC. Locally, the game registered a 7.1 rating in the Los Angeles market, the third-best for NBC behind Games 5 and 6 of the Kings’ run to the 2012 Stanley Cup championship. The New York market drew a 10.1 for the Rangers’ first Final game since they won the Cup in 1994.
