High-sticking or retalation against Jeff Carter

Jeff Carter was slashed in the face by Duncan Keith at 7:58 in the second period by Duncan Keith, who was assessed a double minor for high-sticking. Carter was in the training room receiving stitches after the game and was unavailable.
Darryl Sutter was available and not happy.
“That’s retlaiation,” he said. “That’s not high-sticking.”
Asked if he thinks the NHL will do anything about it – ie. a suspension – Sutter said: “I don’t expect nothing.”
Duncan Keith says it was an accident.
“Yeah, it was accidental. Obviously, I wanted to give him a tap, but not where I got him. I felt bad. I’m glad to see that he came back. It was just a scuffle. It was an assked.”
Asked if he was concerned the NHL will look into it, he said: “I have no idea. I said it was an accident.”

That was Quick

Jonathan Quick allowed four goals en route to the Kings’ 4-2 loss.
It was just the second time he’d played in back-to-back games this year.
The previous, he gave up five goals in the second game of a back-to-back situation.
Quick was pulled during the second period after the fourth goal.
Asked if was a mercy hook, Darryl Sutter said:
“No, no, I think we play five games in the next 10 days,” Sutter said.
Guess he has the Kings pushing this to a 7-game series.

Kings lose Game 1 to Chicago, 2-1

The Kings had a 1-0 lead but they lost 2-1 to Chicago in Game 1 at the United Center. Where have we heard that before? It’s the sixth time this postseason that the Kings have lost by one goal.
Also in the game, Mike Richards was hit late by Dave Bolland on a call that surely will be reviewed by the NHL. A Chicago television reporter told Bolland that his hit seemed to make Mike Richards see stars, and Bolland said: “**** happens.”
Justin Williams scored a first-period goal (he scored both of the Kings goals in Game 7 of the last series against San Jose.
Quick stopped 34 of 36 shots and gave up goals on a deflection and tip. He was incredible in the first period, when the Kings were outshot 17-2 and Quick stopped all 17 shots.
