5/30 LOOSE CANNONS WITH KOBE BRYANT

Steve: And now we have Kobe Bryant joining us on AM570KLAC K Los
Angeles California and Orange County. Kobe, How you doing man?

Kobe: Ummm.. Doing alright man.

Steve: Alright.

Mychal: Really, you sound kind of down Kobe.

Kobe: It’s a tough day man.

Mychal: Yeah, it is this is a shock, this is a 9.9 on the rector
scale out here. As far as the Lakers are concerned. And I never I’d
see the day come or here this day happen. Kobe. What made you arrive
at this decision?

Kobe: ahhh… it’s the hole insider thing!! Prior too.. Prior too…
to seeing that up until the day before… um I was all for this
summer… and us as an organization trying to figure something out
for next season and umm… from all the pressure from the talk of the
media… and so forth and so on….ummm…Phil indicated and said
what there going to do something there going to do something and
there going to do something now.. and there not going to wait anymore
and ummm and so I was comfortable with that you know the next day I
pick up the paper and see this laker insider you know, trying to use
me as a scapegoat for something that I did not do… that I’ve
absolutely gotten crushed for for the last 3 years and you know
prior to reading that I just assumed it was media… I just assumed
it was a guy that you know just talking and just speculating that I
had something to do with that until I saw this laker insider peace
and when I saw that you know and you know enough is enough I was
going to half to speak my peace and tell exactly what happened.

Steve: I have a quote her from Dr. Buss. Kobe we just got this
responding to your comments today with Stephen A. Smith about being
traded I want to read this to you and get your response, Quote ” We
are aware of the media reports however Kobe has not told us directly
that he wants to be traded, we have made it very clear that we are
building are team around Kobe and that we intend for him to be a
laker his entire career. We will speak directly to Kobe until we do
that we will not comment publicly about this.” I wish they would
comment publicly but Kobe what is your reaction to Dr. Buss statement.

Kobe: Really. Where is he. I don’t even know where he is.

Mychal: He hasn’t called you?

Kobe: I don’t even know where he is. How Call. I don’t even know
here he is. I haven’t even heard from him in a long time. I don’t
know where he is. Hows I’m supposed to call him. He has my phone
number, he can call me.

know where he is. Hows I’m supposed to call him. He has my phone
number, he can call me.

Mychal: Has anybody from the front office called you?

Kobe: I haven’t heard anything. You know we called, my agent called
umm Mitch Kupchak early this morning before any of this stuff because
he wanted to make sure we went about it the right way, you know we
called Mitch, and umm let Mitch know the news and we went from there
I wasn’t aware that I’ m supposed to call Dr. Buss I don’t even know
where he is. I don’t even have a number on him.

Vic: Kobe, you have vented. You are the voice of the people Lakers
fans you know.. Realize and they know you’re the truth and should of
the franchise, Kobe Bryant. And now you have vented and you have
revealed and you have purged yourself of a lot of negative energy,
let’s face it it’s been percolating within in you for many many years
and it’s good to get it out.

Kobe: You know what, you know what, it is good to get it out. And
it’s really really frustrating to me that you know with everything
come out it stuff that said that I’ve never said before ummm about
the Shaq the Shaq departure umm and shaq hearing that stuff for the
first time he himself and him saying what’s he saying and for the
statement to come out of the Lakers organization the the statement
that comes out through all of this… through everything that they
know that’s they’ve done is is is oh I haven’t reached out to him
and haven’t let him know direct. It’s silly. It’s ridiculous.

Hartman – “Kobe, I have been saying about this, and I know you get
upset about a lot of

The things I say, but, the thing I had said all along, I never said
for a second that you ever said that you said to get rid of Shaq,
what I said was, I questioned whether or not you ever went to Dr.
Buss and said look if you want me to remain a Laker we need to keep
Shaquille O’Neal……now you basically indicated, which was a
revelation, yesterday

That you said Dr. Buss had already said to you Kobe, regardless of
what you do, my mind is already made up about Shaquille
O’Neal…….. see that was news to me. Do you think..”

Kobe – “See, but that news to a lot of people, see what I’m saying,
that’s news to a lot of people, a lot of people don’t know that,
like, you know ,he did not want pay him the 30 million, he didn’t
want t pay it”

Hartman – “But, if you had said to him, look Dr. Buss, let’s get
serious here, it’s you know, working with Shaq & I, obviously, you
know personalities, there is always going to be problems, but if you
had said to him right now, the only way I’m staying with this team,
cause I’ve got offers in Chicago, look at the Clippers right there

I know you had a long Conversation with Elgin Baylor, you’ve got to
figure out how a way to keep Shaq around….Do you think you could’ve
changed his mind at all?

Kobe – “Was that my responsibility to do that?”

Hartman – “Well, no, but I’m saying do you think it would of changed
it?

Kobe – “If he’s coming to me and he’s telling me that, I know I want
to opt you

And become a free agent , how am I going to sit there and
demand….that he bring Shaquille O’Neal back , when I don’t even
know…. if I’m gonna be back myself

Hartman ” Right”

Kobe – “That s not logical, I’m gonna say ok, you keep Shaquille
O’Neal, and I will come back , ok… I’m gonna give you that, ok, you
keep Shaquille O’Neal and then I’ll come back so you go ahead and
pay him the 30 million, you do not want to pay, ok, and then I decide
‘m going to leave….. anyway…….you know….doesn’t make any
sense”

Hartman – “The conversation you had with Phil Jackson , when Phil
Jackson was let go by the Lakers, did you talk to Phil at that point,
I mean here was the most successful coach in the history of the game,
you’d just been to the NBA finals and all of a sudden then Phil was
gone, did you talk to Phil at that point?

Kobe – “When Phil and I spoke, in our exit meeting in ’04, he had
already had his meeting with management, and the only thing Phil
asked me, Said, “You’re decision to become a free agent or coming to
this organization, does it have anything to do with me, whether I’m
here or not?

I said, Absolutely not, doesn’t matter, doesn’t matter, I said -
Phil, you and I have had our difficulties, but I love you as a
coach, everything I learned about the game, comes from you and your
staff….. so… it has absolutely nothing to do with… you coming
or returning or not returning, absolutely nothing.

Hartman – “Well, here’s the thing, I look at the pieces falling…
Your dear friend the architect of this organization, Jerry West,
leaves on his own accord……

Kobe – “Why, Why did he leave?”

Hartman – “Well, he said at the time, Kobe, member, he said he was
he, uncomfortable with the increasing role of Jim Buss in the
organization, he was uncomfortable, maybe with the rising stature of
Phil Jackson, especially with his relationship with Jeanie in the
organization, so he leaves, now you get rid of the most successful
coach in the history of the game and the owners telling you, we’re
going to trade the most dominate big man in the game and now he’s
looking at you, and you’re like, by the way … can you save this
franchise? ………………….. isn’t that essentially what he
said??

Kobe – “Well, you know what he told me, um, when I opted out, I
became a free agent you know I met with Dr. Buss, I met with Mitch,
as I did with other teams as well….I voiced my concern and my
concern was when you have teams that have won multiple
championships… quote – unquote, “Dynasties” so – to speak it
normally takes 9-10 years for that team to rebuild, to get back to
that elite level, I said that ‘s the concern I have in returning, um,
is that fact…and they said, um, we promise you we want to rebuild
right now, we want to start the process right now….we want to be
aggressive, we want go after players and that’s ultimately what
swayed me, what kept me here, what kept me from going to a team like
the Clippers or requesting a sign and trade to a team like Chicago,
that had established young players to begin with.”

VTB – ” Kobe, lets’ take a deep breath, take a deep breath”

Hartman – ” By the way, I had to put the paddles on Vic (SFX- ) clear!

Vic: I’m a wreck Kobe, but let’s all take a deep breath shall we?
Take a deep breath Kobe. I know you’ve been venting all across the
country these last couple days. You’ve really bared your soul for all
basketball fans, all Kobe fans, all people are in your corner for
this because we know you’re speaking the truth. But take a deep
breath, look around you. Where are you now Kobe? You in Newport
Beach, in the house?

Steve: I can hear people in the background so there’s your answer.

Kobe: Yeah that’s my wife and my little girl.

Vic: Just look around Kobe, look around, look at the family, look
around.

Steve: He’s getting deep now Kobe.

Vic: Look where you are in life my brotha. This is a beautiful thing
right now. Now Kobe, there is chaos, but you can forge clarity. What
can the Lakers do at this point now Kobe to repair this rift?

Kobe: Um…I can only hope that they do something. Cause I don’t want
to go no place else. I don’t want to. I want to stay here, I hope
they do something. You know when I spoke with Phil today, you know I
got off the phone and once the news was out about the trade I spoke
to Phil prior to that and I spoke to Phil a couple times after. You
know, he just, he just stayed optimistic. He just said you know what,
you know I can’t blame you for feeling this way. I can’t blame you
for it, but, I just have to try and be optimistic and you know we
have to try to find something out with their management and uh to
find out um with the management and organization who’s uh, you know
we want our players who are playing for this team to feel comfortable
that they can trust the people that they’re around and you know he
said let us try and figure it a all out, and he’s confident that we
can do that, and we can kind of go from there and that made me feel a
lot better because Phil is a guy that I lean on a lot, you know I
lean on him all season for clarity, I lean on him for hope, um and
you know right now is a little different.

Steve: You know you mention Phil, Kobe. And like you say, he’s the
man that is fully in your corner right now. Let me ask you this
cause this has already been brought up, the Dr. Buss situation
obviously not a good one yesterday of Dr. Buss but you say now you’re
still waiting for a call from the other him, GM Mitch someone please
call me which is insane to me, but at the same time, you know we talk
about the Buss organization, what they brought to laker fans it
speaks for itself. Eight Championships the great times with Mychal
Thompson, Magic, Kareem, James Worthy, the great years with you, Shaq
and everything else But maybe they don’t have the means any more
Kobe to put together the team around you necessary where we expect
the Lakers to be. I mean I’m not gonna ask you to call out the Buss
family, but maybe to hand it over to Anschutz and say forget the
luxury tax we gotta spend whatever amount of money it takes to bring
the winner here, but do you think there is anyway to mend the fence
with that Buss Family right now? Or do they seem to be entrenched in
what they believe is the right direction for the organization, and it
doesn’t really include what your thoughts are on the right direction
for the organization.

Kobe: Well, um you know again I haven’t spoken to anybody, so I can
only go on my conversations with PJ, and you know he said that they
are now determined to do something. You know, they’re determined to
get something done and they are off this long term plan thing, you
know, they want to get something done, and for me the frustration
would have been alleviated if they had told me about a long term
plan. Because id didn’t know about it, so I’m sitting here saying
they can’t get anything done. Bring in Baron Davis, bring in Carlos
Boozer, Artest, they can’t get anything done.

Steve: And you’ve heard us the past couple years. We had Baron
Davis on three years ago saying I begged them, I wanted to be a
laker, they wouldn’t take me. They said well he’s injured all the
time. You mentioned Carlos Boozer, what, he can’t cover a forward,
in other words it was one excuse after another. And we kept saying
why aren’t these deals getting done. We knew. Phil Jackson wanted
Ron Artest; we knew you wanted Ron Artest. He was at every Laker
game while he was sitting out Indiana and he ends up in Sacramento
and it is like, What is going on here?

Kobe: Exactly and um, that’s why I was so frustrated. And now
looking back it’s not that they weren’t competent, it’s that they had
a long term plan that I knew nothing about. But I guess now they’re
off of this long term plan and you know they want to do something, do
something now, and get this team turned around. And I’m happy to
hear that. I just try to draw hope from Phil again saying that he
wants the players on the team to be able to trust what’s going on
inside the walls of the organization, and um, he’s confident they can
do that.

Mychal: You haven’t heard from laker management but have you heard
from Magic?

Kobe: You know what actually, I just got, I just got a voicemail
from magic.

Mychal: Good call Him Back.

Kobe: I just got a voicemail from magic. And I can’t wait to call
him back.

Mychal: Now Kobe, you know, you asked for a trade but do you
understand that the Lakers just can’t give you away and I mean and I
hope it doesn’t ever come to this but if they traded you don’t you
don’t you understand they basically have to gut a team to get you
because you’re that valuable so you would almost go to a team that’s
been gutted? So where does that leave you?

Kobe: (Laughs) (Laughs)

Steve: They would have to give up two or three top line players to
get you?

Kobe: You know what this is this is the important thing, This is what
this is the key ummm that you got to understand if it’s not
necessarily about being in the position where we don’t have a
championship caliber team, Is that frustrating absolutely did I
demand to be traded, or ask to be traded because of that… NO. NO I
did not. Um because that’s something that because of you know the
talk and the pressure of the team they want to win now. They want to
try go out there they want to makes they want to be aggressive they
want to get players. They want to get this team here now and I can
trust Phil, when he tells you that umm cause that’s all I have to go
off of. It’s not it not about that, so it’s not about, you know if I
was to go to another team you know it’s it’s they want to build a
championship team they want to build one now you know you know that’s
fine, But my problem comes in you know telling me one thing and
doing another. And blaming me for something, I mean, I I got crushed
for that. I had nothing.

Vic: You took the bullet. You took the bullet.

Mychal: Kobe you know you talked about a name you don’t have to name
names, but do you have an idea who this insider may be?

Kobe: Sure. Ummm.

Mychal: And that why your hurt.

Kobe: Sure.

Steve: It’s got to be a high level person?

Kobe: I’m not, I’m not, I’m not you know what, I’m not saying
anything too that I’m not going to um go you know want to talk with
Phil you know what I’m saying I’m not saying anything. I’m not
saying anything. It’s its look. It ain’t got nothing to do with me.
You know. I understand what went down. I know what happened. And
ummm… If anything I’m just happy that the truth is out there
finally. And everybody kind gets a… to tie the puzzle exactly
what’s been going on here for the last 3 years.

Vic: You purged yourself and I think that that was the correct thing
to do, Kobe. You got it out everyone now understands the truth you
are the voice of the people but again you got to get back to that
pocket of a couple days ago, Kobe. You are bigger than this insider
stuff, OK. You are magnanimous. You, you know this insider is
negative energy you are pure positive energy. Kobe Bryant. So move
ahead of it. Now. OK. You’ve done it it’s revealed.

Steve: But there’s still a matter of trust. You see, and whether
it’s in a marriage, Kobe, or whatever it maybe when you forge a
relationship a friendship a work situation, there has to be a level
of trust and that trust has been frayed which Kobe you’ve made it
clear you’ve felt it’s been betrayed, How do you mend that what is
it that can be said to you, I mean If Dr. Buss were to get on the
phone with you, right now and said, Kobe, I’ll admit that I was
desperate, I needed to get you resigned obviously, we had No West, No
Jackson, No Shaq, your all I had left I had t say whatever to get
you resigned you know I said one thing now but I’m going say I
promise you one right now Kobe Bryant, That this is it. You’ve got my
full commitment, I’m off the poker tables I’m off you know running
around with 23′s years olds, you know down in San Diego my Fall focus
is on the organization do you trust what he says is the truth?

Kobe: You gotta show me.

Vic: Show Kobe Bryant.

Kobe: The the person that I trust is ummm… there’s two people
inside this industry that I trust, complicity and that’s Jerry West
and Phil. And Phil because this hole year we’ve we’ve showed each
other that we can trust each other. We’ve showed that. And because
of that are relationship has grown and it has blossomed to where I go
to him on advice for everything.

Steve: But you mended that with Phil. I mean absolutely he portrayed
you on that book?

Kobe: Exactly and it takes time. You know what I mean. You gottta
gotta show a person that. You know. You can’t just say it. You
gottta show.

Steve: What was the turning point with Phil, Kobe? I mean he
betrayed in that book, He called you out, all the sudden he’s gone,
He, He, comes back what is it that rebuilt that trust with you and
Phil Jackson?

Kobe: You know it started with, when he said you know what he was the
first person I heard to be true for one to say Kobe’s catching a lot
of slack for for something he hadn’t nothing to do about. (Laughs).
(Laughs). He said I want to come back he’s getting too much blame
for it. And I want t come back and help him out.

Mychal: You said they got to rebuild that trust. How? How much time
will you give them to rebuild that trust?

Kobe: I I don’t know… I mean a phone call would help… (Laughs)

Steve: Yeah, Let’s start with a phone call.

Kobe: A statement a statement saying I didn’t call them about it is
it it’s that’s that’s that’s (pause) crazy.

Vic: Kobe will you meet with the Lakers today let’s say… Jim Buss
comes down to Newport Beach would you meet with Jim Buss and let’s
start the process.

Kobe- Id love to because I would like to know what the hell is going
on.

Steve- I just don’t understand whets going on with the Buss’, Jim has
come on our show couple of times and said this is all about Kobe and
I reminded him that Kobe had an opt out in his contract and if we are
sitting here a year from now he’s going to walk out of here and you
are going to get nothing in return. The Lakers are at a crossroads
right now and that’s why when you make your comments after the exit
meeting, my reaction was “Finally” because through ought the year I
didn’t know how you bit your tongue for so long, I mean the team was
falling apart around you and you were trying to put a positive spin
on it and you sounded like Vic the Brick, everything was a positive
spin, I mean this is insanity, are you kidding me with this stuff,
you gave us a little hint about your unhappiness at the exit meetings
but the Buss family dismissed the it saying Kobe was just being
emotional and that exit meetings are overly emotional, and I was not
feeling them. And so this latest stuff about the insider stuff has
put you over the top, and you know Vic the brick you always say you
have to hit rock bottom before you can mend the fence.

Vic- you must die completely Kobe to be reborn.

Steve- Can we admit we have died completely, can we admit that?

Kobe- I know this is one of the roughest days ever, this is tough man.

Vic- and Kobe you must remember we are with you, Laker nation is with
you, all the fans are with you, you have our support and we know this
is a grueling journey for you and this must be very painful.

Steve- and understand this Kobe, we have literally hundreds and
thousands of Laker fans listening. The whole city is listening to you
right now. For you its about the fans, I mean you bring the effort
every night and you know I say some negative things about you but I
know you bring it every night. You give us everything out there and
that is undeniable and that is why I get ripped all the time, “Kobe
hater”, “bandwagon man” and everything else. I take a lot of bullets
because of that situation and this cities love for you Kobe Bryant,
they are listening right now shaking in their boots, so what can you
say to them?

Kobe- So am I, I am to.

Steve- But you want to make it clear to them that you want to be a
Laker.

Kobe- Man, more then anything else you, you know that’s why I hope, I
hope they can do something, figure something out, that’s why when I
talked to Phil and we talked, it was an emotional conversation but he
said, Kobe let us figure this out. That gave me some hope, I don’t
want to go no where, I want to stay here man I love it here, this is
my team, and when I say this is my team I mean I have been a Laker
fan forever, like a real laker fan, none of this I played for the
Lakers, no, I have been a Laker fan my entire life, and when you’ve
been a Laker fan you feel like this is your team. That’s how I feel;
I don’t want to go no where.

Vic- It’s your squad Kobe.

Mychal- What happens if they make all the proper calls, try
everything and nothing substantial is made and you come to camp with
almost the same roster?

Kobe- As a player if we feel like we can trust what’s going here, we
don’t have to worry about this insider stuff.

Vic- You are so much more, you have transcended this insider negative
energy Kobe. You understand this, you are sunshine, you transcend
this insider crap that’s going on, you have transcended this Kobe
Bryant.

Steve- By the way you are listening to AM 570 KLAC Los Angeles
California, the Kobe station, just another thing, when you made your
final decision in 2004 to resign with the Lakers, wasn’t a part of
the equation trying to envision yourself with a Clipper jersey on or
a Bulls jersey on, that just doesn’t seem right.

Kobe- You know what……um when looking at the other situations with
the Bulls and Clippers we would have had a better team then with the
Lakers. Who knows I might still be playing right now if I were with
Chicago or the Clippers. The fact of the matter remains I was willing
to take the risk, and start the process of making this team a
championship team quickly, which I was promised by Dr. Buss to even
my decision, I was willing to take that risk because I love the
Lakers. This is the team I have always wanted to play for so I took
the risk of the accepted the promise.

Steve- Kobe, right now for the Laker organization they need to make a
lot of changes do you feel like if the organization were to, well you
cant mention any names but I can, lets say they go out and make a
deal for Artest, someone who will bring a little defensive toughness
and someone who will back you up if you get hit and knocked down to
the ground. What about a guy like Grant Hill who understands what the
game is about, bring in these types of players that you were exposed
to in the early part of your Laker career. Guys like Ron Harper, AC
Green. Do you think that would be enough to make this team a
contender without gutting the team and getting rid of Lamar and of
course you would want the team to resign Luke and stuff like that.
Would that be enough to get this team back to a competitive level
with the Mavs, Spurs and Suns.

Kobe- Do you know what a start would be, call me, don’t make a
statement, I don’t have Dr. Buss number, I mean call me!

Steve-I cannot believe this, does he realize his empire, and his
world is crumbling right now.

Vic- This is revisionist history right now, back in 2004 the Lakers
did this with Shaq and now they are doing this with one of the
greatest players on the planet with the Kobe Bryant. Right now there
must be a change in philosophy and business and a change in
communication. There must be a change in business, and you Kobe
Bryant are a revolutionary and a poet, you have triggered it Kobe and
it will change now!

Steve- But he doesn’t even have Dr. Buss number.

Mychal- Oh come on, yes you don Kobe.

Kobe- ………..Dr. Buss number? I don’t have his number man, how am
I supposed to get a hold of him.

Steve- He doesn’t have his number; he has said that repeatedly
Mychal.

Kobe- He has my number.

Mychal- Oh I thought you were kidding.

Kobe- He has my number, he knows how to contact me, you knows what’s
going on. For the last three years I have been killed for the Shaq
situation, being told we are going to rebuild the team now and fast,
but they are on a different plan that I don’t know anything about.
Then the media is killing me about Shaq leaving. They sat down
watching and knowing I didn’t have anything to do with Shaq leaving.
Now the day has come, this has pushed me beyond the point. Now this
day comes and you want me to call Dr. Buss and say what?

Vic- They make the first word, they must make the first move here.

Steve-I just don’t understand honestly, I know Dr. Buss is having
some problems especially after his incident yesterday. I mean the
entire Laker organization is crumbling right now and all Kobe is
asking for is a phone call!

Kobe- You know what I can’t even believe they made a statement
without calling me first.

Mychal- I thought Mitch would be at your front door after hearing
your statement today.

Steve- Obviously this is very emotional day for you Kobe, for
everyone here, you give your blood and guts to this organization and
put your trust in them and honestly I am befuddled how the Buss
family is allowing this to happen. We have tried to get a hold of Dr.
Buss and Jim Buss and they don’t want to come on and talk, the Lakers
are the crown jewel of the city, Kobe is the biggest star in the
city and you have no comment, why not?

Kobe- See the thing that speaks volumes to me was Shaq’s comments
that said more to me then anything.

Mychal- You’re talking about him believing you.

Kobe- Because he never heard what I had to say.

Steve- Have you mended that fence, it now seems like you have
realized that Shaq knew what was going on with the organization when
he demanded to be traded and now you have a better understanding of
where his head was back then.

Kobe- Absolutely

Steve- This was never about an ego clash between you and him, this
was about Shaq not liking the new regime after West left, or with
Phil getting fired and he knew the organization was in decline and
wanted no part of it.

Kobe- Yup

Steve-So that really changes a lot between you and shaq right?

Kobe- Absolutely

Vic- Shaq believes you 1000% Kobe that’s a direct quote.

Steve- And I have always believed this a bout you and Shaq, Shaq
never meant any malice against you Kobe, you know he was your biggest
supporter.

Mychal- WHAT?

Steve- I don’t believe that, I don’t believe Shaq had any malice
against Kobe.

Vic- Tell it Kobe

Kobe- Let me tell you something, me and Shaq had a relationship many
people won’t understand. Because it was our opposite personalities
that made this thing work. You know Shaq is real laid back and a very
gregarious guy, when I step on the floor its complete opposite, I
practice with intensity and only play one speed, and that’s why we
bumped heads, which was inevitable. But when we stepped on the court
we both mean business and had a killer instinct to win, which is why
we won 3 titles.

Steve- I think it’s unbelievable, it’s quite a revelation, you guys
had something very special obviously and as you say, even if your
personalities were different it blended together very well. There
will always be frustrations about that, but right now I think Shaq is
feeling very sympathetic towards Kobe.

Kobe- He obviously knows the organization; you know he was here
during that time. When he was here I was younger and only focused on
basketball, I didn’t know the politics of the organization or
anything like that.

Mychal-Kobe are you going to confront this person in the organization
who has been talking, because if someone was talking about me, I
would confront them.

Kobe- Nope, I don’t need to do it, I’m don’t with that stuff.

Vic- Transcended, you have done it, and you revealed and now let it
go Kobe because you are the flow. You have changed the perception
that you and Shaq could not co-exist.

Kobe- The thing I believe is I know who in the organization is doing
this, but I don’t want to confront them because I’m not totally sure
who it is. All I have is an idea, see I can’t point the finger if i’m
not 100% sure.

Mike- Well if you’re going to remain a Laker you must find out who it
is.

Kobe- I would hope Dr. Buss decided to get to the bottom of this and
root this problem out instead of making a statement.

Steve- The thing were finding out from Kobe right now is you can
forgive and forget, he rebuilt his relationship with Phil and seems
to have done the same with Shaq.

Kobe- I mean our daughters were born on the same day, we sent each
other gifts, at the All Star Game we always stop and chit chat to
catch up, but the media never portrays that because it’s not as media
friendly.

Mychal-My suggestion to you Kobe is get a hold of Magic, because you,
Magic and Jerry West are the face of the Lakers, you guys need to put
your heads together and figure this stuff out.

Kobe- Yeah we need to figure out something, that’s the person I need
to call because Magic is the man.

Mychal: Oh yeah he is.

Kobe- And I want to stay here. So I want to do whatever whatever it
takes.

Mychal-Between you and him you will figure it out.

Kobe-Yeah.

Vic- Kobe we feel you, we know you want to be a Laker for life, you
just want to exercise the process to relieve your pain and lets get
down to Newport with the Laker family.

Steve- Let’s forget the trades Kobe, get the Laker family together
and get this figured out. Let’s make sure they call you and get the
ball rolling. Let’s talk to Magic because we know you and Magic, I
mean that’s Laker basketball, let’s get this resolved.

Kobe- That sounds good to me because I don’t want go no place else.

I think Kobe tried everything to make his team better; he tried to be a passer but did not benefit his team. Remember when he passed the ball to K. Brown (which could have beenteh winning shot), but blocked by a guard M. Yurich. That was so disappointing. Lebron James would not bring the Laker players to finals , not even to the play-off. Nor Nash would make the Laker squad better. Study the line-up and our players are not comparable to these two teams’.
