Taking a stranglehold on the series?

| | Comments (0) |

The Lakers' overtime victory tonight over Orlando gave them a 2-0 series lead in the Finals, and if history is any guide, they have pushed the Magic to the brink. Only three teams in Finals history have rallied to win the series after falling behind, 2-0. The Miami Heat rallied to defeat the Dallas Mavericks in 2006, the Portland Trail Blazers did the same to the Philadelphia 76ers in 1977 and the Boston Celtics did it to the Lakers in 1969. No team in any round in league history has ever rallied from a 3-0 deficit. The Lakers will try for a 3-0 lead when the series shifts to Orlando for Game 3 on Tuesday night.
