Odom offer taken off the table

| | Comments (6) |

Monday Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak said that he wasn't sure the organization and Lamar Odom's representative were ``on the same page.''

Now it looks as if the Lakers offer to the free agent forward has been taken off the table, according to our Elliott Teaford, who is attending the Lakers summer league game in Las Vegas.

Another knucklehead agent who's trying to be greedy by thinking he can get more money from the Lakers by playing hardball. Well guess what? Won't work either, just ask Trvor Ariza!! Lamar wake up and smell the coffee!! Don't end up like Trevor, no other team can offer you the kind of money that the Lakers are offering you. The best that the other teams can do is the mid level exception. You have have a chance to get another ring with Kobe,Pau,Fish and now with your buddy Ron Artest. So don't let your agent ruin your career just because of a few million!! Take control and do the right thing!!

Wrong, Portland can offer him close to $10 mill if they renounce a couple euro players (Freeland, and Kopponen)

KBFlash you're wrong. The max Portland can offer is $8.9 million and that is after they release a player and get hit with a fine for not having enough players on the roster.

Compromise Solution:

9 Million per year with a 1.5 million bonus if they make the finals. This way the ticket revenue from the finals will cover Odom. Win Win for both

Lamar was quoted yesterday saying "The Lakers have been too good to me to rub people over there the wrong way. The Lakers have been nothing but great to me, and I want to keep the relationship great." How can this happen with he or his agent not taking the time to AT LEAST let the Lakers know that they were not accepting the $9mil offer! The Lakers are known for giving cast-offs "opportunities" and this is the thanks they get. I love Lamar Odom, and I still hope something can be worked out, but this is truly disrespectful. I'm tired of these guys acting like they have NO idea what their agent is doing cause "they stay out of it"...yea right. I'm sure if Lamar ends up in Portland they will think they have a chance at winning, but on the contrary...the Lakers brass will come up with something!
