Warriors 110, Lakers 91

In the end, the Forum wasn’t as welcoming as the Lakers might have hoped. They lost tonight’s exhibition against the Golden State Warriors, 110-91, because they couldn’t handle the ball well enough. They committed 16 turnovers in the first half, and 25 by game’s end. They never led after the first quarter and fell to 1-1 in exhibition play. As is his custom early in the preseason, Lakers coach Phil Jackson played mostly free agents with zero chance of making the team in the fourth quarter, so there was little opportunity for a comeback. Monta Ellis led Golden State (2-1) with 24 points. Andrew Bynum had 19 points on 7-for-11 shooting and six rebounds in a little more than 31 minutes for the Lakers.
