Lakers 104, Hornets 88

Kobe Bryant couldn’t continue his streak of 40-point games, but he did get 28 points on 11-for-21 shooting as the Lakers hammered the Hornets. The Lakers led by as many as 27 points in the third quarter, coasting to their sixth win in seven games to start the season. Shannon Brown added 15 points and DJ Mbenga had 10 points and 12 rebounds for his first NBA double-double. Luke Walton had 11 points. Chris Paul had 15 points and nine assists for the Hornets, who looked out of sync from the opening tip. The Lakers never trailed.
