Halftime: Lakers 51, Heat 48

The Lakers trailed after the first quarter tonight for only the second time this season, which probably says more about the lackluster level of competition they have faced lately than anything else. Anyway, they charged past the Heat and into the lead in the second quarter. Meanwhile, the Kobe Bryant-Dwyane Wade matchup was a dud until the final minutes of the half. Wade made a couple of spinning moves that lead to dunks and Bryant countered with an off-balance bank shot that fell through the hoop as the buzzer sounded. Pau Gasol had 12 points and Andrew Bynum had 11 to lead the Lakers. Mario Chalmers led Miami with nine points.
