Jackson leaning toward retiring

Phil Jackson said today he told several players, “I’m leaning toward retirement.” He plans to make a final decision in a few days, after he talks with his doctor. If he decides to call it a career, ex-Lakers guard Byron Scott could be a possible replacement. Jackson also said, “I can’t said I would never coach again.” He said he couldn’t make any retirement plans. “I haven’t got that planned out,” he said. “Write a book, go on a grand lecture tour. … I haven’t got those things figured out. … I think I have some things to lend to this game.”

i have to say phil jackson is the most overrated coach in sports.his 11 championships are due to pure luck…..yes he was lucky to have michael jordan, shaq, gasol and kobe…anyone who doubts this just look at what happened after shaq left and before gasol fell into his lap…he’s just posturing trying to get some sympathy and leverage with laker owner who’s threatening to cut his salary drastically…i say call his bluff and let him walk…there’s at least 10 available coaches who could win with the lakers!
