The Lakers tuned up for what looms as a serious beatdown Tuesday against the Western Conference-leading San Antonio Spurs with a Christmas Clunker today. They were no match today for the Miami Heat, who actually played as if something was on the line at Staples Center. LeBron James had a triple-double for Miami with 27 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists. Kobe Bryant scored 17 points on 6-for-16 shooting and Pau Gasol had 17 points on 8-for-17 shooting. It was a pretty meager showing for the two-time defending champion Lakers, who looked as if they wanted to be elsewhere.
time for Mitch to do a quick rebuild...they wont make it out of the 1st round this year...sad but true!!
we need defensive minded bigs that will get back to defending pronto. gasol is caught up in whinning for calls he thinks should have been called therefore making him the last player to be in defensive possition. say what? bloggers think kobe should be at fault, but to me, he can only do so much, and others should show up when he's having a low turnout.
if gaso will spin to the basket instead of dribbling the ball for like eternity, he may be awarded fouls more times than not, but instead he dribble and loses the ball.
