Half: Jazz 48, Lakers 42

| | Comments (0) |

SALT LAKE CITY -- The Lakers moved within two games of the conference- and league-leading Spurs when San Antonio lost in overtime tonight to the Houston Rockets. The second-place Lakers needed a big rally in the closing minutes of the half just to have a chance at narrowing that gap to 1 1/2 games. They trailed by as many as 17 points in the first half, but closed the second quarter with a 10-0 run to get close. Lamar Odom was sick before the game, coming down with a stomach ailment. Matt Barnes served a one-game suspension, so he wasn't available. Plus, the Lakers shot only 39.4 percent (13 of 33) in the half. Kobe Bryant scored 13 points. C.J. Miles had 12 for the injury-depleted Jazz.
