Pau Gasol to sit out against Washington

WASHINGTON — Lakers forward Pau Gasol will not suit up for tonight’s game against the Washington Wizards, missing his seventh consecutive game because of knee tendinitis.

The Lakers are 1-5 without Gasol, though he has averaged a career-low 12.6 points on 42.6 percent shooting.

Gasol has performed some light running in recent days, but it remains unclear whether he will play Sunday against the Philadelphia 76ers. The Lakers have listed him as day-to-day.

The Lakers (9-14) have lost six of their last seven games, including a 116-107 loss Thursday to the New York Knicks. The Lakers should bounce back against the Washington Wizards (3-16), but they beat the Miami Heat earlier this month. The Lakers had also last to Cleveland earlier this week.
