Lakers view Grammy trip with a mixed bag

MIAMI — The Lakers sounded neither giddy nor sour about the team’s 4-3 mark during the 12-day Grammy trip. Kobe Bryant noted Pau Gasol’s foot injury that will sideline him at least 6 to 8 weeks as a “big setback” and bemoaned the Lakers coughing up a double-digit lead Jan. 30 against Phoenix. But he still described the trip as “OK.”

“Four and three is successful for losers,” World Peace said, “and is successful for people who think of us as a losing team.”

Well, they are.

The Lakers (24-28) are four games behind the Utah Jazz (28-24) for the eighth playoff spot.

“If we use this as a learning experience and iron out the problems,” D’Antoni said, “we’ll be fine.”
