Kobe Bryant appears in Nike Greater China promo

Think of all the things Kobe Bryant’s done with a basketball in his hands.

He’s won five NBA championships. He moved up to fifth place on the all-time scoring list. He cast himself in the conversation as one of the greatest Lakers. And as he enters tonight’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder averaging 27.9 points per game, it’s clear that he isn’t done.

Hence, why Bryant’s newest Nike promo encapsulates the “Give Me the Ball” campaign,” an idea he hopes will motivate players to make a mark with just a basketball in their hands.

“Playing basketball was my dream and passion as a kid. The ball symbolized an opportunity, a chance to work hard and see what was possible,” Bryant said in a statement. “Every aspiring player should feel that possibility when the ball is in their hands.”

Bryant, Oklahoma City’s Kevin Durant, former NBA player Yi Jianlian and “Chinese rising star” Wang Zhelin appear in the commercial.
