As Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Larry Bird and Bill Russell sat around a table, there appeared to be no debate on this question posed by actor Beck Bennett.
“In basketball, is it better to be bigger or smaller?”
“Bigger” they all said in unision as part of AT&T’s “It’s not complicated” commercials.
One can only wonder what Lakers coach Mike D’Antoni would’ve said.
Still, D’Antoni would’ve agreed with all the legends on the next question.
“In basketball, is it better to be faster or slower?
Faster” everyone said. ”
“A quick team creates more scoring opportunities,” Abdul-Jabbar said.
“Right, they don’t call it a slow break do they?” Becket said.
“In Larry’s case, maybe they may do, “Johnson said, prompting laughs from everyone but Bird.
In the Lakers’ case, maybe they do too.
