Source: Mike D’Antoni won’t fill Eddie Jordan’s likely departure

Lakers assistant coach Eddie Jordan remains in negotiations with Rutgers for their vacant head-coaching position, according to a source familiar with the situation but not authorized to discuss it publicly. Should Jordan take the position as expected, the source said D’Antoni won’t replace his vacancy for the duration of the postseason.

When the Lakers hired D’Antoni, he kept all of Mike Brown’s assistants, including Chuck Person, Bernie Bickerstaff, Darvin Ham, Steve Clifford and Jordan. D’Antoni hired his brother, Dan, as another assistant after spending time on his staff in Phoenix and New York.
