Jodie Meeks misses Tuesday’s practice, but still expected to play Game 2 vs. Spurs

SAN ANTONIO — Although Lakers guard Jodie Meeks missed his second consecutive practice because of a sprained left ankle, the Lakers still believe will he will suit up Wednesday in Game 2 of their first-round series against the San Antonio Spurs at AT&T Center.

“It’s going to get better every day,” Lakers coach Mike D’Antoni said. “It’s a game time decision but we’re pretty confident he’ll play.”

Meeks believed he felt pain after stepping on an opponent’s foot after driving in for a layup. Either way, Meeks left with 9:11 in the second quarter to get his ankle retaped. He then appeared later in the second half. Meeks played a limited role, scoring only four points on 1 of 4 shooting in 20 minutes

If Meeks doesn’t play, D’Antoni said he would likely increase minutes for seldom-used guards Darius Morris and Andrew Goudelock.
