Lakers wish Eddie Jordan well with Rutgers head coaching position

With Rutgers formally introducing former Lakers assistant Eddie Jordan Tuesday as their new head coach, D’Antoni doesn’t plan on filling his vacated position during the duration of the playoffs.

The Lakers have five other assistants, including his brother, Dan, Chuck Person, Bernie Bickerstaff, Darvin Ham and Steve Clifford.

“On behalf of the entire Lakers organization, I’d like to congratulate Eddie on his new position as Head Coach at his alma mater, Rutgers University,” Kupchak said in a statement. “A member of our 1982 NBA Championship team, Eddie has been a part of the Lakers family going back more than 30 years. We thank him for his contributions both as a player and coach to our club, and wish him the best of luck with the Scarlet Knights.”

Hey Jerry West. What’s D. ANtoni’s playoff record, as a head coach? That is critical speaking, on its own. What is Phil Jackson’s play off record? D. Antoni, set himself up for this. He knew who, the other coach was that the Lakers were talking to. If I were D. Antoni, I would have conceded to the other coach, with the better record, if I were D. Antoni. Every Laker coach goes through the same thing from Lakers fans.(even Magic Johnson) D antoni is nothing special to be treated any differently period.
