Dwight Howard speaks Chinese in latest Adidas promo

No one knows for sure where Dwight Howard to play.

But regardless of how his free agency turns out, it’s clear Howard intends to travel to China this summer as part of his marketing efforts with Adidas. In his latest Adidas promo, Howard stars with Washington Wizards guard John Wall and speaks Chinese with Yi Jianlian, a Chinese professional basketball player who plays for the Guangdong Southern Tigers of the Chinese Basketball Association.

Howard both mixes between exaggerating the accent and speaking in a serious tone. This schtick is hardly new. Before Lakers games this season, Howard often interacted with Chinese reporters in the locker room and attempted to speak the language. As mentioned in the recap of the Lakers’ loss in December to the Cleveland Cavaliers, Howard painfully tried to sing a Chinese Christmas song with a festive voice.

Safe to say Howard’s meeting today with the Lakers later today won’t be as light-hearted.
