Forget buying Kobe Bryant’s jersey or his Nike shoes. Or trying to score an autographed poster or basketball card. The next Kobe Bryant memento that will leave Lakers fans clamoring involves the chance to buy his 1963 Chevrolet Impala.
That’s right.
The man who’s slated to earn $30.5 million in his final contract with the Lakers this season has put this classic car up for bid on eBay for unknown reasons with a starting price at $100,000. It’s likely fans will have to shell out more money for various reasons. One, the auction lasts for 19 more days. Two, the website says the car will include Bryant’s registration, insurance card and title of the vehicle. Third, Lakers fans are crazy about Bryant.
According to the auction website, Bryant’s wife, Vanessa, had West Coast Customs built this car for a Christmas gift the Lakers star received in 2006. Seven years later, that gift apparently has outlived its appeal.
