Steve Nash stars in NBA Christmas promo

The festive colors look bright. The Jingle Bell tune sounds pleasing. Debate rages on whether the NBA’s Christmas Day jerseys appear nice.

But with the NBA showing off some holiday cheer by releasing a promo spot highlighting the league’s short-sleeved jerseys, that video might only make Lakers fans say, “Bah Humbug.”

Steve Nash appears in the promotional spot, performing dazzling plays with his sweet shooting stroke and even throwing a lob pass to Miami’s LeBron James. Nash hasn’t been able to do that in real life as overlapping injuries had limited him to a 6.7 points per game average on 26.1 percent shooting and 4.8 assists. The Lakers also expect him to miss at least two weeks because of nerve issues surrounding his back.

Whether Nash will appear in the Lakers’ Christmas Day game against Miami remains to be seen. If he can’t, that would surely be a pity for the Lakers considering he looked so good wearing their short-sleeve uniforms and making the kind of plays his 39-year-old body hasn’t allowed him to do.
