Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, Steve Nash named to NBA All-Star ballot

Technically, the Lakers officially have three potential NBA All-Stars in Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol and Steve Nash after the NBA named them Friday to the ballot.

In reality, it remains unclear whether the Lakers will field any All-Stars.

Bryant remains sidelined with a torn left Achilles tendon and doesn’t even have a timetable on when he will practice, let alone play. Nash is expected to miss at least another week because of back issues. Gasol hasn’t missed any time. But he’s enters tonight’s game averaging 13.4 points on only 39.4 shooting in 28.3 minutes. It’s hard to believe, but those numbers fare slightly worse than his career-lows last season, when he averaged 13.7 points on 46.6 percent shooting in 33.8 minutes amid a reduced role and various ailments that sidelined him for 33 games.

The NBA All-Star game takes place Feb. 16 in New Orleans, still giving the Lakers plenty of time to polish their All-Star resume and for fans to vote.

They’re allowed to vote once a day through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, text message, the NBA’s Game Time app and the league’s website until balloting ends Jan. 20. Tweets for specific players must include the full name along with the hastag #NBABallot.
