Lakers backup point guard Jordan Farmar left midway through the first quarter of the Lakers’ game Sunday against the Portland Trail Blazers at Staples Center because of what the team called a moderate left hamstring strain.

Farmar appeared in the game at the 5:30 mark, but left less than a minute later after calling a 20-second timeout. Farmar limped his way toward the locker room with Lakers trainer Gary Vitti.

The Lakers are already nursing injuries to their backcourt in Kobe Bryant (left Achilles tendon) and Steve Nash (nerve issues in back), though both are expected to practice Tuesday. Farmar has played a large part in the Lakers’ bench leading the league in scoring (47 points), averaging 9.9 points and 4.6 assists in 20 minutes per contest.
