Kobe Bryant will be sporting something soon that looks as green as your Christmas tree and as red as your Christmas sweater.
It’s none other than his new Kobe 8 System shoes that he will wear when the Lakers host the Miami Heat at Staples Center on Christmas Day. LeBron James will also wear with his “LeBron 11’s” that feature what Nike described as a “chilly mint color” with “bold red accents and a frosty translucent outsole.” But Laker fans don’t care about LeBron James. What about Kobe Bryant?
“Ready to strike at any moment, the KOBE 8 SYSTEM sheds its skin to prepare for the coming of the KOBE 9 Elite in February 2014,” Nike says in its release. “The essence of the shedding skin is exemplified in a bold modern interpretation of aggressive snake scales attached to a translucent mesh shroud. Hits of neon mamba green and chrome gold bring in the holiday season.”
Of course, a much better gift for Laker fans would involve the purple and gold defeating the two-time defending champions. For Bryant’s case, at least he’ll have comfortable footwear in hopes of reaching that goal.
