The Lakers have been a flop this year, but there’s something more offensive that caught the NBA’s attention.
The league issued a warning to Jodie Meeks for flopping in the Lakers’ loss Tuesday to Milwaukee. Replays showed that Giannis Antetokounmpo swung his arms around Meeks, but that he never actually delivered any contact. But that didn’t stop Meeks from offering up an Oscar-worthy reaction by falling to the ground.
Meeks won’t receive any penalty for the warning per NBA rules that were passed for the 2012-13 season. But Meeks will be fined in $5,000 increments for every flip moving forward up to $30,000. If Meeks compiles six flops, he could receive a suspension.
