Xavier Henry out for at least another week

After experiencing continuous soreness in his left knee, Lakers forward Xavier Henry is penciled out of the lineup for at least another week.

The Lakers plan to reevaluate him during their upcoming seven-day trip either in Chicago (Jan. 20) or Miami (Jan. 21-23), sidelining Henry for at least three more games with stops in Phoenix (Wed.), Boston (Friday) and Toronto (Sunday). The Lakers will still allow Henry to perform non-weight bearing exercises. Henry was evaluated Tuesday prior to the Lakers-Cavaliers game at Staples Center by team doctor Steve Lombardo.

Henry became a pleasant surprise for the Lakers this season, averaging 10.1 points with an aggressive drives to the basket and the occasional shooting touch. With the Lakers also nursing injuries to Kobe Bryant (left knee), Steve Nash (back), Steve Blake (right elbow) and Jordan Farmar (left hamstring), the Lakers have also leaned on Henry for some point guard duties.
