Plenty of unanswered questions linger over the Lakers, ranging from nearly everything imaginable.

Who will they hire as their next head coach? How much will Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash recover from respectively serious left knee and back injuries? What first-round pick with the Lakers receive in the NBA draft lottery? Which prospect will they select if they use the draft pick? Which marquee player will the Lakers acquire if they trade it?

Perhaps the only question the Lakers know about the upcoming 2014-15 season involves something they just announced on Monday. Their preseason schedule from Oct. 6 through Oct. 24 will include eight games in four familiar Southern California locations along with an annual trip to Las Vegas.

The Lakers’ regular-season home at Staples Center will host two games on Oct 9 (vs. Golden State, 7:30 p.m.), Oct. 19 (vs. Utah, 7 p.m). The Lakers will open the schedule on Oct. 6 in San Diego’s Valley View Casino Center (vs. Denver, 7), which the Lakers skipped last season because of it’s week-long trip to China. The Lakers will have two games at Anaheim’s Honda Center on Oct. 16 (vs. Utah, 7 p.m.) and Oct. 21 (vs. Phoenix, 7 p.m) and two games at Ontario’s Business Bank Arena on Oct. 12 (vs. Golden State, 6:30 p.m.) and Oct. 22 (vs. Portland, 7 p.m.)

The Lakers will begin selling individual tickets for the Ontario, Las Vegas, Anaheim and San Diego games on May 19 at 10 a.m., while the games at Staples Center will go on sale later at an undetermined date.
