So much for Kobe Bryant’s hope to play in every exhibition game.

The Lakers (1-4) have ruled Bryant out for Saturday’s game against the Golden State Warriors (2-2) in San Diego because of a bruised lower left leg that has kept him out of the team’s last two practices. Bryant left the third quarter of Tuesday’s game against Sacramento after getting kneed in his left leg.

Does this concern Lakers coach Byron Scott?

“No,” he said on Friday at the Lakers’ practice facility in El Segundo. “It’s a bruise.”

Still, Scott outlined clear steps Bryant must take before resuming practice.

“The biggest thing is being able to get lift off,” Scott said. “He said going on his tippy toes was a little sore. We want to see if he can get all of that out first before he gets back on the court and then he goes full bore.”

The Lakers are feeling optimistic that Bryant represents the lone player on their team nursing an injury.

They have listed 32-year-old point guard Marcelo Huertas as probable to play on Saturday against Golden State. After nursing a strained right hamstring that kept him out of the Lakers’ five exhibition games, Huertas practiced for the second consecutive day. He only sat out during the Lakers’ full-court scrimmage at the end of practice.

“Unless something crazy happens tonight or tomorrow morning, I think there’s a real good chance” Huertas plays,” Scott said.
