There was some good news coming out of the Lakers’ Saturday morning shoot around. As reporters walked in Jordan Clarkson was seen working under the basket after practice with head coach Byron Scott offering some hopeful updates.

“He was better. He went through everything today, he wasn’t bad, he looked pretty good,” said Scott. “He told me he feels great. I think he’s lying to me. I like what I saw today versus what I saw yesterday.”

Clarkson missed Friday game against the Atlanta Hawks, as did Kobe Bryant and Lou Williams.

The Lakers will host the defending champion Golden State Warriors on Sunday at 12:30 p.m.. The noon start would make it tougher for L.A. coaches to asses Clarkson with the lack of morning shoot around.

But Scott countered that Clarkson has a pre-game routine where he will be evaluated by coaches. Scott would not give a definitive answer if he felt Clarkson would suit up Sunday.

“I want him to get more treatment today and see how he feels tomorrow,” said Scott.

Clarkson’s healthy became even more important after it was announced that Anthony Brown would miss at least four weeks with a stress reaction in his right foot.

Another game without Clarkson, Kobe Bryant or Lou Williams leaves the Lakers with just three true guards on the roster.
