The question has become repetitive to ask. So Lakers coach Byron Scott answered before a reporter could even bring up the subject.

“Let me save you five minutes. I don’t know if Kobe [Bryant’s] playing yet,” Scott said about Thursday’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers at Staples Center. “We’ll know a little later. I’ll give him a text or a call after 15-20 minutes after I’m done with you guys.”

But it remains unclear if any of those conversations will provide exact clarity on if Bryant will play after missing four of the past six contests because of a sore right shoulder. If Bryant plays, this would mark his last game against the Cavaliers and LeBron James.
