Haaaaaaa! That's hilarious!! Sadly, I almost believe it.
Though my daughter is now way too old for toys, I'm still furious we're having to deal with these defective, tainted and dangerous products simply because companies are trying to be cost effective.
I know this sounds corny, but it's true - One of my favorite gifts as a kid (I was not even that little. I might've been about 9) was a wooden treasure chest my dad filled with different shaped wood blocks. Some he sawed into arches, triangles, pillars, rectangles, etc. I spent hours making Barbie houses, castles, ramps - whatever.
It was like being handed a box of imagination (Wow, that was so corny - I can't even believe I said that). But, it's true.
I'm so out of the trendy toy mindset, these days, but I wonder if good old, handmade toys won't have to become more popular just out of necessity.
Heck, I once bought my daughter a robot she got bored of in an hour. But that sock monkey she made herself and played with - THAT she still has and loves.
And best of all, no Chinese lead or choking parts were involved.
I'm the mom that would be, "Hey that looks like fun!"
Sheesh.
Our kids never dug plastic toys in a big way but I do remember there was a big pacifier recall (that of course I paid no attention to).
*sigh*
I do hope my children can survive my parenting.
