Gangs in Bellflower and Paramount focus of county funding

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday authorized agreements to continue anti-gang efforts in Bellflower and Paramount by providing a full-time deputy district attorney to work in each city with Sheriff's deputies and community leaders.
The funding is part of the county's Strategies Against Gang Environments
program, said Supervisor Don Knabe, who serves those cities and other local communities in  Greater Long Beach.
The anti-gang program seeks to reduce gang violence through civil injunctions, informal interventions, educational efforts involving property and business owners, probation recommendations and other measures tailored to local issues.
"We have lost too many residents to senseless violence, and I am pleased that our cities are
using this program to take back our streets," Knabe said Tuesday.

This is a good program for sure. I only hope that those committing these crimes are screened for immigration status. Those who are not in this country legally should be sent HOME.

How can we get this same help in the city of Compton. We have a problem with gangs as well. How do we get the Supervisor that is over the City of Compton to step and take some action. Not just offering rewards. If you know that certain gangs hang out at park or other child friendly location then do something.

Long Beach and their police department no longer is cooperating with ICE for the deportation of criminal aliens. Why you ask? Pandering to hispanic voters, pure and simple.

Gangs in Paramount and Bellflower? I know of other cities that are alot worst than Paramount and Bellflower. This is just pork-barreling funding into cities that already have connections with the big boys in the county and state...
