LONG BEACH -- The 43rd Annual Long Beach Police Awards ceremony is set for June 22, event planners announced Wednesday.
And though the event is free, those wishing to attend must make reservations, according to the Long Beach Police Foundation.
This year's event marks the second year the non-profit foundation will host the awards ceremony, which will be held at the Richard and Karen Carpenter Performing Arts Center at Cal State Long Beach.
The ceremony will include light refreshments and is designed to be family friendly, said Gretchen Houser, a foundation board member and one of the event organizers.
In addition to individual tickets sponsorship packages are available and range from $100 to $5,000.
Those who wish to make reservations to attend can do so by calling the foundation, at 562-343-5111, or going to the foundation's website, at www.lbpolicefoundation.org.
The Long Beach Police Foundation seeks donations from private businesses and individuals and facilitates direct, designated donations that community safety.
The 501(c)(3) registered nonprofit is the only charitable organization that provides private, direct funding for the Long Beach Police Department.
