Nevada chasing history, Williamsport; other notes

| | Comments (0)
No Nevada team has ever advanced to the Little League World Series but it's clear that the team from Paseo Verde Little League in Henderson has a very good chance of making the trip this year.

However, getting to the final game has often been a challenge for Nevada, which last played for a West title back in 2004. Nevada reached the West final in 2001 and has made the semifinals every year since the current alignment of the West and Northwest was established in 2001.

Nevada is 2-5 in the semifinals since then. Nevada also reached the finals of the West in 1983. All of those appearances were by Henderson's Green Valley.

WASHINGTON
Washington finished with 55 runs scored -- the best in the tournament. It has allowed six runs, also the best in the tournament.
