Washington, sparked by some strong defense, sat Oregon's batters down in order here in the bottom of the first. Andrew Pryor grounded out to Washington second baseman Derrick Mahlum, Jacob Zanon was robbed of a basehit by a diving catch by Alek Baumgartner and Chandler Whitney grounded out to shortstop Jason Todd.
