Silverado Little League of Las Vegas scored three runs in the fifth inning to break a 5-5 tie and clinch its second win of the West Region tournament.
Pitcher Jayzen Ramirez went 2 for 3 with three runs scored and a pair of RBI, both on his fifth-inning home run that proved to be the game-winner. The left-hander allowed five hits and five runs — all earned — in four innings while walking five and striking out four.
Omar Ortiz Jr. went 3 for 4 with an RBI for Nevada and Buddie Pindel pitched two innings of relief to get the win.
Rio Rico (Arizona) Little League scored five runs in the second inning, highlighted by Michael Escobar’s three-run home run to left field. Cesar Dominguez Jr. went 2 for 2 with two RBI and a run scored.
