Etiwanda advances to final

Although football semifinals dominated the high school sports scene on Friday, in a semifinal game in another sport -- boys basketball -- Etiwanda High School advanced to the finals of the Rose City Classic with a 55-46 victory over the host school, Pasadena on Friday night.

Pasadena won the Pacific League last year.

Etiwanda (3-0), a CIF-SS finalist last year, will play Sylmar of the L.A. City Section in the tournament championship on Saturday night at Pasadena High.
