Quotation of the Day
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all convictions, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.
--WB Yeats

Certainly, it seems like Yeats' belief in the gyre is coming true. It seems to me that there are more conflicts between different ideologies everyday with no hint of any resolution being reached between conflicting parties.

This is from his poem, "The Second Coming". This poem is my favorite poem by my favorite author. The moral from the poem is so captivating because of how serious Yeats is in his writing. Illustrating the idea of how the apocalypse is starting to show itself, and it's been hiding from our eyes for the past twenty centuries. The beast and its master will reign hell on all of humanity. However, the most interesting thing is that we never knew it was coming. That can be compared to how our society is hiding itself from some of our deepest fears by creating illusions that blind us from the truth. Yet, some day that truth is going to expose itself, just like the apocalypse did in Yeat's poem.
